Panaji: Alleging manipulation in the allotment of plots in industrial estates, the United Goans Foundation (UGF) has written to govt seeking a vigilance investigation into the role of Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) officials.The UGF has also sought cancellation of the provisional allotment of a plot at Verna industrial estate, which the NGO claims has been allotted to the father of a GIDC IT manager entrusted with online plot allotments.The allotment appears contrary to the spirit of the 2019 opinion of the advocate general, which recommended framing safeguards to prevent conflicts of interest involving employees and their family members, UGF said in the complaint to the chief secretary and industries secretary.The complaint is based on the allotment letter issued to industrial engineers, a firm owned by Suhas Datta Naik. Records show that Naik has been allotted plot no. U02-X based on recommendations by the Goa Investment Promotion Board.
