Bathinda: In a tragic incident, dead bodies of two youths were spotted in Bathinda on Friday. A syringe was found stuck in the arm of one of the youths, raising suspicion that they might have died of drug overdose.The deceased have been identified as Gurwinder Singh (29) and Kuldeep Singh (25). As per sources, both of them had returned from a de-addiction centre only few days ago.After the incident was reported, NGO volunteers reached Bir Basti on the outskirts of Bathinda town and found two youths lying dead at the road. The volunteers informed the police and prepared a video clip of both the deceased youths. “After the police reached the spot, the bodies were taken to Bathinda civil hospital. Later, they were shifted to AIIMS, Bathinda”, said one NGO volunteer.As per sources, Bir Basti and nearby Bir Talab village have been identified as hotspots for drug abuse. Bathinda DSP (Rural) Harwinder Singh Sra said that upon getting information, police reached the spot and took the bodies to AIIMS. “The cause of death will only be known only after the post mortem report is received,” the police officer said.
