Two sisters die of suffocation inside parked car in Alwar

Alwar: Two sisters aged eight and five died of suffocation after getting trapped inside a parked car while playing in Alwar city Wednesday, police said.The girls identified as Teena Bai (8) and Lakshmi (5), had reportedly entered a damaged red-coloured car parked at a nearby vehicle repair centre while playing in the area.According to information, the sisters shut the car door after getting inside but were unable to open it again and remained trapped inside the vehicle.Their father, Ramesh, who runs a hair salon, said he had left for work after leaving the children at home in the morning. When he returned home for lunch, he found both daughters missing and began searching the neighbourhood. During the search, the girls were found unconscious inside the parked car. They were rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared them dead.CCTV footage from the area has surfaced showing the two girls entering the car. Ramesh said people at the repair centre had earlier noticed the children near the vehicle and had asked them to move away.Vaishali Nagar SHO Gurudatt Saini said the car was in a damaged condition and its engine and battery were switched off. He said the vehicle did not auto-lock, but the children were unable to open the door from inside after it shut.
