Ghaziabad: Two men were killed and another injured after the car they were travelling in rammed into a moving canter on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway near Mahrauli in Ghaziabad early Thursday, police said.The deceased, Sachin Kumar, 32, and his cousin Anuj Singh, 30, were both residents of Hapur. The injured, Yogendra Singh, 30, is a resident of Surajpur in Greater Noida.ACP Wave City Priyashri Pal said police received information about the accident around 1.52 am. A police team reached the spot and found an Eicher canter and a Tata Zest, damaged in the middle lane near Mahrauli.Preliminary investigation found that the car was travelling from Meerut towards Delhi when it hit the canter from behind. Sachin was driving the car, Anuj was seated beside him and Yogendra was in the rear seat.All three were taken to District Hospital, Sanjay Nagar, in an ambulance. Doctors declared Sachin and Anuj dead on arrival, while Yogendra was admitted for treatment. His brother, Sushil, later took him to a private hospital.Police informed the families of the deceased and seized both the car and the canter.Pal said no formal complaint had been filed by the families so far. Police are conducting further investigation to establish the circumstances leading to the accident.
