Noida: Two men were arrested Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a security guard at a residential society in Sector 116 after he questioned their entry into the premises early on Monday.The incident occurred around 12.30am . A video of the incident has since surfaced on social media. The footage shows a group of men in a car stopping between two gates. Another man on a bike waits near them. The men had an agitated exchange with the guard and they soon began to hit and drag him. The man on the bike also joins the group. As the video goes on, the men punch and drag the guard back and forth near the gate.Police said the security guard, Anil Kumar, was on duty at gate number 5 of the society when the men tried to enter the society. Kumar mistook the men for a group of street food vendors and stopped them from entering the premises. They added that the guard was unaware that the men were residents of the society. When they informed him that they lived there and regularly used the gate, the argument broke out.“The disagreement escalated into a verbal altercation. The men initially left the spot but returned shortly afterwards with several accomplices and allegedly assaulted the security guard,” station house officer of Sector 113 police station Pramod Kumar said.Following the incident, Anil Kumar lodged a complaint and an FIR was registered at Sector 113 police station. Police said two of the accused were arrested on Tuesday, while teams have been formed to trace the remaining suspects who allegedly participated in the assault.Investigators are also examining the video and collecting CCTV footage from the society to identify everyone involved in the incident.
