Chennai: Two police personnel, including a special sub-inspector, suffered injuries after a govt bus crashed into a police patrol vehicle parked along the Trichy-Chennai national highway in Chengalpet district early on Saturday. The injured were identified as SSI Gunasekaran and constable Vijayaraj, of the Padalam police station highway patrol unit. Police said the patrol team completed rounds in the Athimanam area and parked the vehicle on the roadside, when a govt bus on its way from Kallakurichi to Kilambakkam bus terminus in Chennai, rammed the parked patrol vehicle, causing severe damage. Police rescued the injured officers and shifted them to a govt hospital.
