Mohali: Police claimed to have cracked the Rs 23 lakh armed robbery case reported near Tangori village with the arrest of two suspects. The accused will be produced in court and taken on police remand.The robbery took place on June 10 near Tangori village. Complainant Mohit Goyal, a resident of Prem Basti in Sangrur, alleged that he was robbed of Rs 23 lakh cash at gunpoint by Sahil Verma and his accomplices.According to the police, Goyal had come to the Tangori area carrying Rs 23 lakh cash in connection with a property transaction. While he was there, Sahil Verma, accompanied by several associates, allegedly arrived in an Endeavour vehicle. The accused reportedly threatened him with weapons and forcibly snatched the cash before fleeing from the spot.Based on Goyal’s statement, police registered a case against Sahil Verma and others under relevant sections of BNS and Arms Act.City-2 DSP Harsimran Singh Bal said that the operation was carried out jointly by the district police and the CIA staff, Mohali.
