TVK IT wing says Vijay govt focuses on welfare of TN farmers, asks if DMK ever took decisive action on Cauvery issue
Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay

CHENNAI: The TVK IT wing on Saturday said chief minister C Joseph Vijay was handling the Cauvery issue keeping in mind the welfare of Tamil Nadu farmers and Tamils living in Karnataka as the priority. In a post on X, the TVK IT wing accused DMK of playing politics over the dispute.“Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is acting with the welfare of farmers and the safety of Tamils living in Karnataka as the foremost priority. Unlike DMK, which is politicising the issue after losing power, the TVK govt is committed to protecting farmers’ interests,” the TVK IT wing stated. The IT wing alleged that DMK had remained silent on the Cauvery issue while in power but had begun raising the issue only after moving to the opposition. “Despite being part of Union govt for several years and holding key Union portfolios, the party had failed to secure a permanent solution to the Cauvery dispute,” IT wing said. The IT wing questioned whether DMK had ever relinquished a ministerial post or taken decisive action for Tamil Nadu’s rights. TVK urged former CM M K Stalin to speak in the interest of farmers rather than engage in political criticism over the inter-state river water dispute.
