Kolkata: A private tutor has been arrested for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a class 12 student at his residence in the Lake Town police station. The accused was apprehended on Saturday and produced before the Bidhannagar court on Sunday afternoon.According to police sources, the incident took place approximately four days ago when the tutor instructed the teenage student to visit his home under the pretext of academic lessons and consultations. “The accused used to teach the teenager till class 10. Hence, the student did not think twice before visiting the house,” said an officer.The girl alleged that the tutor expressed a desire to spend time with her rather than teaching. She further claimed that he served her a beverage laced with an intoxicating substance, which caused her to lose consciousness. The tutor then allegedly raped her while she was incapacitated.
