Agartala: A tribal couple sustained injuries on Sunday after a bear attacked them at Panjirai Mog para in South Tripura’s Jolaibari.The incident occurred when Angsaphai Mog and his wife, Angsanu Mog, were clearing vegetation in a nearby rubber plantation. The couple had reached the plantation early in the morning when they unexpectedly encountered the bear.The animal attacked Angsaphai without warning and when Angsanu rushed to her husband’s aid she, too, was seriously injured.Angsaphai suffered multiple bite injuries to his hands and face, besides fractures in two places on one hand. Local residents rushed to the spot after the attack and helped the couple.They were taken to Shantirbazar district hospital for treatment and were reported to be out of danger.
