Agartala: Veteran Tripura journalist Biman Dhar (82) and his grandson Rajib Paul (30) died in a road accident near Udaipur on Thursday.Dhar was travelling towards Udaipur in a car driven by Paul when it collided with a bus near Kariya Mura on the Agartala-Sabroom National Highway, police said. The car veered off the road and fell into a ditch.Villagers rushed to the spot and tried to rescue the occupants before emergency responders arrived. Doctors at Gomati District Hospital in Udaipur declared both dead on arrival. The bus driver fled the scene after the collision.Chief minister expressed grief over Dhar’s death and extended condolences to his family.Dhar is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter, who live in Kolkata. Paul came to Agartala for Durga Puja when the accident occurred.
