Trio steal 4 lakh from parked scooter | Pune News



Pune: Three unknown men on Tuesday afternoon stole Rs 4 lakh from a scooter parked outside a credit cooperative society at Ale Phata. A 55-year-old farmer from Vadgaon Anand village in Junnar taluka lodged a complaint.CCTV footage captured a swift theft, and police are now searching for three suspects. An officer from Ale Phata police said the incident occurred on Tuesday morning after the complainant, a farmer, withdrew Rs 5 lakh from his bank account. He intended to deposit Rs 1 lakh in a credit cooperative society and kept the remaining Rs 4 lakh in his scooter’s boot before entering the premises.“As soon as he went inside, the trio arrived on two motorcycles. One conducted recce outside and briefly entered to keep watch on the farmer,” the officer said. Meanwhile, the other two approached the scooter, broke open the boot lock within seconds and stole the cash.“They fled immediately on the motorcycles,” he said. When the farmer returned, he found the lock broken and the bag missing, and alerted police. “We suspect they followed him from the bank. We have their motorcycle registration numbers and are working on some clues,” the officer said.
