Pune: The Pune city traffic police will implement traffic diversions in the Shivajinagar-Deccan areas on Tuesday afternoon to facilitate Tiranga Rally on the Fergusson College Road.Traffic police have appealed to motorists to use alternative routes after 2pm on Tuesday. The traffic diversions are likely to remain in place till 7pm.According to police, the Tiranga Rally will begin around 2pm from the Lalit Mahal Hotel Chowk on Fergusson Road. The rally will proceed via Shri Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk, Shri Tukaram Maharaj Paduka Chowk, Goodluck Chowk and Garware Chowk.Deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Sandeep Bhajibhakare said, “The movement of vehicles on the Fergusson College Road will be halted after 2.30pm.”Bhajibhakare appealed to motorists to use alternative routes as temporary changes will be made to traffic arrangements in the Deccan Gymkhana and Fergusson College Road areas during the rally.Motorists travelling from Swargate towards Deccan Gymkhana via Tilak Road should take the route through Sarasbaug, Dandekar Bridge Chowk, Mhatre Bridge, Nal Stop Chowk and Law College Road to reach their destinations. Vehicles travelling from Swargate towards the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway via Deccan Gymkhana should take the route through Puram Chowk, Bajirao Road and Shimla Office Chowk. Those who are travelling from Karve Road via Khandoji Baba Chowk towards Tilak Chowk should use alternative routes. Drivers and two-wheeler riders from Garware Chowk in Deccan towards Wakdewadi via Fergusson College Road should take the route through Shelar Mama Chowk, Prabhat Road, Law College Road, Senapati Bapat Road and Ganeshkhind Road.
