Rajkot: A three-and-a-half-year-old girl succumbed to severe injuries at a Rajkot hospital, two days after she was mauled by a dog at a farm in Veraval town, police said on Wednesday.The child, identified as Ashwini Pawar, was attacked by a dog at a farm in Veraval on Monday.According to preliminary police information, the girl was initially admitted to a local hospital in Veraval before being referred to the paediatric department of Janana Hospital in Rajkot for advanced treatment on Wednesday.Doctors said Ashwini succumbed to her injuries later the same day. Her body was shifted for forensic examination.Police investigations revealed that the family originally hails from Maharashtra and had been living in the Veraval area for some time, working as agricultural labourers.Officials said Ashwini was the younger of two sisters and lived with her family in the Navapara area of Veraval city.
