TIPRA Motha wins 3,428 seats in ADC Village Committee polls

Agartala: The final results of the ADC Village Committee elections have been announced, with the state election commission’s report showing TIPRA Motha as the leading party across the village committees.According to the final results, elections were held across 587 village committees, covering 2,634 constituencies and 4,597 seats.After nominations, 167 village committees, covering 1,644 seats, were declared uncontested. Three seats remained vacant. As a result, results were declared for 4,594 seats.Of the total 4,597 seats, 2,950 were contested across 420 village committees. The electoral process covered 44 blocks, with counting held in 45 designated counting halls.Taking both contested and uncontested wins into account, TIPRA Motha won 3,428 seats, or about 74.62% of the 4,594 seats for which results were declared.BJP finished second with 859 seats, or about 18.7%. Independent candidates won 173 seats, followed by CPM with 87, IPFT with 33 and Congress with 14.The final party-wise tally for the 4,594 declared seats was: TIPRA Motha 3,428, BJP 859, Independents 173, CPM 87, IPFT 33 and Congress 14.Among the 2,950 contested seats, TIPRA Motha won 1,867, while BJP won 778. Independents secured 172 contested seats, CPM won 86, IPFT won 33 and Congress won 14.
