Pune: A tin sheet from Metro’s ongoing viaduct work site near Bhakti Shakti Chowk fell on the road on Saturday late evening because of a strong wind, but no one was injured.Maha Metro immediately stopped work related to extension of the route from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Bhakti Shakti Chowk on the stretch. Its safety team will conduct an inquiry into the incident. Officials said action would be taken against those found responsible. Instructions have been issued to conduct inspection of the stretch and tighten the safety norms.Maha Metro is constructing a viaduct for extension of the route from the PCMC to Bhakti Shakti Chowk. The tin sheet was placed as a cover on a machine installed at the viaduct for the construction work. About 50% work of the PCMC to Bhakti Shakti Chowk stretch has been completed so far.
