MUMBAI: A Western Railway ticket checker was allegedly pushed and injured by a ticketless passenger at Andheri station on Tuesday evening.According to the staffer, Prakash Dubey, he was checking a second-class ordinary coach of a Virar-Dadar local at Borivali around 6.40pm when he found a passenger travelling without a ticket.When asked to pay the fine, the passenger allegedly said he would arrange for a ticket.When the train reached Andheri, Dubey asked the passenger to alight.The passenger allegedly pushed him immediately after getting down and attempted to flee, causing Dubey to fall.He sustained an injury above his left eye and started bleeding.Despite the injury, Dubey managed to catch the passenger with the help of senior railway staffer Ganesh Rokde.The passenger was initially taken to the TC office and later handed over to the GRP at Andheri for further action.Dubey was taken to a railway dispensary for treatment after informing the master office.
