Shimla: Two women were killed and two young children injured after a three-storey house collapsed in Chhichhadiadhar village of Didag gram panchayat in Rajgarh sub-division of Sirmaur district, on Wednesday afternoon.The deceased were identified as 60-year-old Nirmala Devi, wife of house owner Bhim Singh, and her 32-year-old pregnant daughter Pooja. The two children, both around one-and-a-half years old, were rescued from the debris and shifted to Civil Hospital, Rajgarh. Later, one of them was referred to Solan hospital for treatment. Pooja had visited her parental home along with her daughter.Hearing the loud thud, locals rushed to the spot and helped rescue the family.Nirmala’s daughter-in-law Shabnam had stepped outside the house just two minutes before the house collapsed but her daughter got injured. Bhim Singh was also not at home at the time.Rajgarh SDM Raj Kumar Thakur visited the site and assured the family of administrative assistance. The administration provided Rs 25,000 immediate relief to the families of each deceased woman and Rs 5,000 for the treatment of injured children.
