Gurgaon: Three Delhi residents were injured after a Hyundai Exter carrying eight persons, including four children, crashed into a jersey barrier while taking a U-turn near Sector 55-56 chowk on Golf Course Road at around 3 am on Wednesday. According to police, the group was returning to Delhi after attending a family function.Fruit seller Sahil Khan, who was on the way to buy fruits, said, “The car came at a high speed and rammed into a jersey barrier as the driver tried to take a U-turn. One of the passers-by informed the police control room.”The police reached the spot and seized the damaged vehicle. According to police, the collision severely damaged the car and three sustained injuries but none were reported to be serious.“The injured were taken to Marengo Asia Hospital but were discharged before we reached the hospital as they wanted to seek treatment somewhere else,” a police officer at Sector 56 police station said.The three injured were Shivam Kohli, Priyanka Kohli and Aarushi Kohli, residents of Uttam Nagar, Delhi. The driver of the car, however, remains unidentified.Another fruit seller, Khalid, claimed that the driver appeared to be drunk. Police, however said, “We have not received any information from the doctors suggesting that any of the family member was under the influence of alcohol. An inquiry has been initiated.”No case had been registered till the time of filing the report.
