Aizawl: A car bearing Assam registration hit a parked truck at Venglai locality of Kolasib town bordering Assam early Thursday, killing three people and injuring two others, police said.Police said the car, driven by Masukur Rahman (26), S/o Riaz Uddin, Ghulchara, District Karimganj, Assam, was coming from Karimganj in Assam when it struck a parked truck carrying cattle fodder and fertilisers. The truck rolled back and crushed the car, police said.Those killed in the mishap are Masukur Rahman (26), S/o Riaz Uddin, Ghulchara, District Karimganj, Assam; Saddam Hussain (28), S/o Suleiman Ali, Ghulchara, District Karimganj, Assam; and Abu Khaled Md Imdadulla (19), S/o Moiz Uddin, Ghulchara, District Karimganj, Assam.Those injured are Rahul Islam (21), s/o Faizur Rohman, Ghulchara, District Karimganj, Assam, and Saharul Islam Talukdar (31), s/o Abdul Bari Talukdar, Chandipur, Hailakandi district, Assam. They were released from the hospital after being administered first aid treatment.Police said a case was registered at Kolasib Police Station under section 281/125/106 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and further investigation into the incident has been undertaken.Police said post-mortem examination will be conducted on the deceased persons, after which their bodies will be transported to their respective villages in Karimgang for performing the last rites.
