Hyderabad: The sleuths of Task Force from Hyderabad police arrested three persons for allegedly using the same registration number on three different two-wheelers to evade an outstanding bank loan and traffic challans. The accused were identified as N Mallikarjun, a businessman, Bheem Ajay Reddy, a resident of Parsigutta, and Koppula Dhanraj, also a resident of Parsigutta. Police seized three motorcycles from their possession.According to the police, the case came to light when Task Force personnel stopped Ajay Reddy, who was riding a two-wheeler, during a vehicle check. During verification, officials found a mismatch between the vehicle’s registration details and its engine and chassis numbers. The investigation revealed that the motorcycle had originally been purchased on finance by one Sai Ram, who later sold it to Mallikarjun. “To prevent the vehicle from being repossessed by IndusInd Bank over an outstanding loan of Rs 36,000, Mallikarjun allegedly affixed a duplicate registration number plate copied from another motorcycle legally registered in his name,” said the police.Police added that Mallikarjun later handed over the motorcycle to Ajay Reddy for use.Further investigation revealed that Ajay Reddy had also allowed his friend, Dhanraj, to use the same registration number on another motorcycle to avoid detection and evade traffic challans.A case has been registered at the Warasiguda Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
