Ghaziabad: Three vehicles were gutted in a fire that broke out at a car workshop near gate number 2 of the RRTS station on Meerut Road early Wednesday morning. No casualties were reported.According to the fire department, the blaze was reported around 5am at New Auto Life Motors workshop near Hindon Dharma Kanta. Two fire tenders and a water bowser were rushed to the spot.Chief fire officer Rahul Pal said six vehicles were parked inside the workshop when the fire broke out. “Firefighters deployed two hose pipes and brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes. Three vehicles were damaged, while three others were safely removed from the workshop,” he said.Officials suspect a short circuit may have caused the fire, though the exact reason is yet to be confirmed.Workshop owner Mohammad Arif alias Kallu Mistry said he and some mechanics were sleeping nearby when the fire broke out. “We woke up after noticing heavy smoke and flames around the workshop. We immediately dialled 112, following which the police and fire teams arrived,” he said.In another incident on Wednesday evening, a fire broke out at Omega Print Pack in the Bulandshahr Road Industrial Area under Kotwali police station limits.According to the fire department, information about the blaze was received around 4pm, following which five fire tenders from Kotwali fire station were dispatched to the spot. Additional tenders from Hapur, Noida and other parts of Ghaziabad were later called in.Officials said the fire was brought under control within about an hour. The factory manufactures printing ink, and chemicals stored there led to dense smoke and fire spreading across the area for some time.“No casualty was reported in the incident. Prima facie, the fire appears to have been caused by a short circuit, but the exact cause is being examined,” Pal said.Fire department officials said over 20 fire-related calls were received across the district on Wednesday.
