Chennai: Madras high court has granted conditional bail to Vilathikulam DMK MLA G V Markandeyan, arrested for allegedly threatening chief minister C Joseph Vijay.Justice G K Ilanthiraiyan directed Markandeyan to give an undertaking before Tuticorin court that he would not make such remarks in future.He must also sign a register at the jurisdictional police station daily for two weeks, except when the legislative Assembly is in session.Markandeyan moved the high court after Tuticorin Principal Sessions Court rejected his bail petition. He was arrested on July 20.Justice Ilanthiraiyan granted conditional bail to Markandeyan after accepting the prosecution’s submission.
