Hyderabad: A 26-year-old student from Telangana has died after falling ill suddenly in the United States, adding to the growing list of Telugu students who have lost their lives abroad in recent months.The deceased, Arun Sai Reddy Bollendula, was a native of Mahabubnagar district and was residing in Tampa, Florida. He had moved to the US to pursue higher studies and build a career. At the time of his death, he was on STEM Optional Practical Training (OPT) and was actively searching for a full-time job.According to sources, Arun developed health complications on June 19 and was admitted to a hospital in Tampa. However, he died while undergoing treatment. The exact nature of the illness was not immediately known.The news has left his family and friends devastated. Efforts are underway to complete the necessary formalities and repatriate the mortal remains to India. A crowdfunding campaign has also been started for the repatriation.The incident comes amid a series of deaths involving Telugu students in foreign countries. Earlier this year, Telangana student Mohammed Abdul Arfath was found dead in the US after going missing for several weeks, while Andhra Pradesh student Gopi Krishna died in a road accident in the US. The recurring incidents have raised concerns among families sending students overseas for education and employment opportunities.
