Hyderabad: Telangana high court has ordered status quo over the disputed land parcels in Bahadurguda village near Shamshabad, until further orders, while allowing the authorities to take any action against the petitioners only after following the due process of law. These parcels form part of land being acquired by the state govt for the bullet train projectJustice B Vijaysen Reddy passed the interim direction after observing that the two writ petitions involve serious disputed questions relating to title and possession of the land. The matter has been posted to Aug 11 for further hearing.One of the petitions was filed by 85 farmers, while the other was filed by Mustang Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd. and two others. They alleged that HYDRAA, revenue authorities and police illegally entered their land at Bahadurguda, attempted to dispossess them, demolished structures and interfered with their possession without following the legal process.The petitioners further claimed that police personnel assaulted them, illegally detained several of them and their family members, including women, and acted in violation of earlier status quo orders passed by the high court in connected cases.They sought restoration of possession, compensation of Rs 2 crore each, a CBI probe into the alleged incidents and directions restraining further interference with their land.The petition filed by Mustang Infra Projects alleged that officials tried to trespass into and take possession of about 49 acres of patta land without issuing notices or following due process, and sought protection from any further interference.Opposing the petitions, advocate general A Sudershan Reddy said the contentions were baseless.After hearing both sides, the high court observed that the disputes involve complicated questions of ownership and possession that require detailed examination, and adjourned the matter.
