Telangana health union warns of agitation over pending demands

Hyderabad: The Telangana United Medical and Health Employees Union issued a warning to the state govt, demanding immediate redressal of long-pending issues in the medical and health sector.At its state general body meeting in Hyderabad, the union cautioned that employees across cadres would launch agitations if the demands remain unresolved.In a unanimous resolution, the union pressed for enhanced budgetary allocations to strengthen public healthcare and ensure quality treatment for all. Key demands included filling vacant posts permanently to ease staff workload, regularising contract and outsourcing employees, and clearing pending salaries, bills, and allowances.The union also sought payment of 15 months’ arrears to 104 employees, implementation of the second Pay Revision Commission with 51% fitment from July 1, 2023, and release of six pending dearness allowances.Leaders urged the govt to respond positively without delay, warning that failure to act would trigger intensified joint struggles across the health workforce.
