Lucknow: A 14-year-old Class 10 student died by suicide at his maternal grandparents’ house in Sitapur late Monday night, with police claiming that an examination of his mobile phone revealed that he had searched YouTube for information related to hanging shortly before ending his life.The boy was a resident of Khamharia village and was staying at his maternal grandfather’s house for studies. He was enrolled in a private school and was studying in Class X.According to police, the boy’s maternal grandparents had gone outside the house to feed their cattle when he took the step.The family members immediately brought him down, but he had already died. The teen’s father and other relatives reached the village.Police examined the boy’s mobile phone and found that he had searched YouTube for information related to hanging before his death.Police said the reason behind the teenager taking the extreme step has not yet been established.Maholi police station inspector JB Pandey said the body had been sent for post-mortem and further action would be taken after the report was received.A forensic team also visited the spot and collected evidence.
