Chandigarh: An 18-year-old youth was killed while another was seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding allegedly went out of control and rammed into a tree near Satsang Bhawan in Maloya on Friday noon.The deceased was identified as Sarwan Kumar of Maloya, while the injured rider was identified as Armaan. According to Maloya police, the two youths had borrowed a motorcycle from someone in Jhampur village, Mohali and had gone out for a ride.The accident took place when they reached the area near Satsang Bhawan in Maloya. Police said the motorcycle was allegedly being driven at high speed when the rider lost control and crashed into a tree on the roadside. Sarwan sustained critical injuries and died at the spot, while Armaan was seriously injured. He was rushed to GMSH-16, where he is undergoing treatment.Police kept the body at the mortuary for autopsy and initiated inquest proceedings.Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
