Jaipur: Tank sisters — Geetakshi and Shagun — excelled in the district-level badminton tournament organised at the Jaipur Sports Academy here recently.The prize distribution ceremony for the badminton tournament held at the Jaipur Sports Academy in Hanuman Nagar with great enthusiasm. The chief guests were Manoj Dasot, vice-president of the Rajasthan Badminton Association, and Chaudhary Sher Singh, Director of the Pick and Kick Academy. The guests honored the winning players by presenting them with trophies, medals, and certificates.The Tank sisters gave a brilliant performance in the competition. In the Under-11 girls singles, Geetashi Tank won the gold medal by defeating Yatika Chopra 21-16, 21-18 in the final. Ahana Kalra and Advika Yadav got the bronze medal in this category.In the Under-13 girls singles, Shagun Tank grabbed the gold medal by beating her own sister Geetashi Tank 21-15, 21-17. Avantika and Ahana Maderna claimed the bronze medals.In the Under-11 boys singles, Kushang Jain captured gold ousting Atharva Tyagi, while Shaurya Singh Naruka annexed bronze.In the Under-15 boys singles, Rishit emerged champion dismissing Ranvijay. Kushang Jain and Prabal Pratap Singh Naruka were the semi-finalists.In a thrilling men’s doubles summit clash, Vatsal Rathore and Vikas Shah edged past Yashvardhan and Vinay Sevda to reign supreme.Mukesh Pandit and Amit Poonia were the winners in the veterans’ category.Navya, Aarav, Janak, and Asad were honored with the ‘Best Player Award’ at the event. Academy head coach Atul Gupta thanked all the guests, players, and parents at the closing ceremony. Academy coaches Ayanu Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Pratik, and manager Jitendra Sharma were welcomed with garlands.
