Rajya Sabha MP, Sadanand Shet Tanavade, is set to be elected unopposed as president of the Goa Olympic Association (GOA) after being the lone candidate to file his nomination for the top post

Panaji: Rajya Sabha MP, Sadanand Shet Tanavade, is set to be elected unopposed as president of the Goa Olympic Association (GOA) after being the lone candidate to file his nomination for the top post.According to the election schedule by returning officer Adv Vithal Naik, candidates could file their nominations between 11am and 4pm on Saturday. Once scrutinised, the final list of candidates will be declared on Monday at 5pm.Sources said the entire GOA executive committee will be elected unopposed.Nominations: President: Sadanand Shet Tanavade (Goa Judo Association); vice presidents (4 posts): Caitano Fernandes (Goa Football Association), Sandhya Paliekar (Modern Penthatlon Association of Goa), Sudesh Thakur (Goa Gymnastics Association), Bhageshri Padloskar (Rifle Shooting Association, Goa); secretary general: Sandeep Heble (Goa Basketball Association); treasurer: Jayesh Naik (Goa Weightlifting Association); jt. secretary: Manoj Patil (Goa Badminton Association); executive members (5 posts): Rukmini Kamat (Goa Kabaddi Association), Navin Pai Raikar (Taekwondo Association of Goa), Abhay Bhamaikar (Goans Hockey), Viplava Bhakta (Equestrian and Polo Association of Goa) and Akhil Parrikar (Goa Athletics Association).
