CHENNAI: TN BJP state president Nainar Nagendran on Friday said the BJP would not involve itself in any effort to form the government in Tamil Nadu following the Assembly election results.In a statement, he said the party had contested the elections with the aim of serving the welfare and progress of the people of Tamil Nadu but had accepted the verdict delivered by the electorate.“We believe that the people have not given the Bharatiya Janata Party any opportunity or mandate to form the government in Tamil Nadu in this election,” he said.Stating that the party respected the wishes of the people and the election outcome, Nagendran said, “The Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party does not wish to associate itself with any attempt to form a new government in Tamil Nadu.”He further said the party did not want to make “any direct contribution” to efforts to form the government.“We also wish to inform the people that we will not vote in support of any party involved in efforts to form the government,” he said.
