Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Monday alleged that both Congress and BRS had failed the backward classes and demanded that the Telangana govt disclose the funds allocated to the Most Backward Classes (MBC) Corporation and details of the beneficiaries assisted so far.Addressing the first state executive meeting of the BJP OBC Morcha at the party’s state office, Ramchander Rao said the BJP had taken up several issues concerning the rights and interests of BC communities.He alleged that BRS had failed to fulfil its promises to BC communities and claimed that Congress was continuing the same approach.Ramchander Rao also raised the issue of BC reservations, alleging that decisions taken by previous Congress govts had adversely affected the reservation share of BC communities. He accused Congress of pursuing minority appeasement politics and said the issue needed a wider debate.Turning to the MBC Corporation, the BJP leader questioned whether it was functioning effectively and whether the Telangana govt had provided it with adequate funds.He demanded that the Telangana govt release a report detailing the funds allocated to the corporation, its functioning and the number of beneficiaries who had received assistance so far.Ramchander Rao alleged that the corporation had not been adequately strengthened and said even the BC Corporation was not receiving sufficient funds.He urged BJP OBC Morcha leaders to take the Centre’s welfare schemes to the people and explain how BC communities had benefited from them.
