Synthetic drugs cartel busted, 2 held, hunt on for foreigner kingpin

New Delhi: The arrest of an auto driver near Tagore Garden metro station has uncovered a synthetic drug cartel operating across the city. Police said they had seized commercial quantities of narcotics, including MDMA, cocaine and Ecstasy, and also arrested another man allegedly involved in distributing drugs in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj and Vasant Vihar.The auto, allegedly used for peddling drugs, has also been seized. Police have launched a manhunt for a foreigner, Stanley, who is suspected to be the kingpin of the racket.During the raid near the metro station on June 22, Ram Kumar was arrested and police found 6.6 grams of MDMA on him. The contraband, along with the vehicle, was immediately seized. Deputy commissioner of police (west) Hareshwar V Swami said Kumar revealed that he had procured the MDMA from Stanley, based in Vasant Kunj, and was supplying the drugs on his instructions.Kumar’s disclosure led police to Sandeep (37), who told investigators that he, too, was working for Stanley and was tasked with delivering narcotics to customers across the city.Further searches led to the seizure of 11.6 grams of MDMA, classified as commercial quantity, 10 grams of cocaine, and nine Ecstasy tablets weighing 6.7 grams.
