Inter-state drug dealer held with heroin in Guwahati
GUWAHATI: Assam Police’s Special Task Force (STF) arrested an inter-state drug dealer and seized heroin worth Rs 80 crore during a raid in Guwahati on Friday.The accused, who is from Punjab, had been staying in Guwahati to collect a drug consignment.In a post on X, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “@STFAssam raided the premises of an inter-state drug dealer recovering heroin worth Rs 80cr. The dealer has been arrested as @assampolice contributes resolutely to the #NashaMuktBharat mission.”According to an official, the consignment had been brought from Manipur. STF personnel recovered the heroin from a bag kept at the apartment where the accused was staying.A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
