Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday termed Konda Surekha’s dismissal from the state cabinet unfortunate but defended the high command’s disciplinary action, saying her conduct had crossed the party’s limits.Speaking to the media in Delhi, Goud said Congress allows its leaders to express their views and grievances but expects them to maintain discipline and responsibility.“Surekha should have immediately condemned the remarks made by her daughter, Konda Susmita, and that her failure to do so led the AICC to take the matter seriously,” he said.Goud stressed that the party wanted Surekha to remain in Congress and would provide her opportunities. He also dismissed her allegation that chief minister A Revanth Reddy was blackmailing anyone. “Her remarks were made out of anger and anguish,” he said, advising her against making such statements in future.He said party leaders with grievances could approach the TPCC president, the AICC in charge, the party general secretary or the high command through established channels.Goud warned that disciplinary action would be taken against any Congress leader who crossed the party’s limits, saying the action against Surekha should serve as a message to all leaders to raise concerns through organisational channels rather than making unrestrained public statements.
