Noida: Suraksha Group has completed 7,913 flats across 84 towers in the long-delayed Jaypee Wish Town project, bringing relief to thousands of homebuyers who have spent more than a decade waiting for possession. The developer said it has also upgraded key infrastructure, like water and power supplies, to make the township ready for more residents.The company, which acquired debt-ridden Jaypee Infratech in June 2024, has completed 84 of the township’s 159 towers, accounting for 7,913 of the nearly 20,000 flats promised under the project. Occupancy certificates (OCs) have been received for 42 towers with 4,213 flats, while applications for OCs covering another 26 towers, comprising 2,229 flats, are pending.Work is also progressing on the remaining buildings. Structural audits have been completed for seven towers with 583 flats, with fire NOCs received for two and the remaining approvals under process. Audits are underway for another nine towers comprising 888 flats.Spread across sectors 128, 129, 131, 133 and 134 along Noida Expressway, Wish Town is one of the city’s largest integrated townships, with residential projects, commercial spaces, schools, healthcare facilities and a golf course.Suraksha said it has also focused on strengthening infrastructure alongside construction. Ganga water supply, it said, has now been extended across Wish Town sectors, while the electrical load at GSS-I has been increased from 19.8 MVA to 35 MVA. GSS-II is currently operating with a load of 9.7 MVA. Eleven cluster clubs are expected to become operational by the end of the current financial year, and the company has secured Rera registration for the commercial project, Wish Point, in Sector 134.“Our priority has been to speed up construction while improving the township’s infrastructure and quality of life. The OCs, Ganga water supply, upgraded power network and community facilities reflect that commitment,” said Jash Panchamia, executive director at Jaypee Infratech Limited.Suraksha’s resolution plan involves completing around 20,000 stalled homes, offering long-awaited relief to thousands of buyers.Residents, however, claimed the turnaround is incomplete. “The township still lacks a fully developed sports complex, reliable power backup and several promised civic facilities. Ganga water came only after a long struggle, while the proposed grid substation in Sector 134 is yet to be completed,” said SK Maheshwari, a resident.Nearly one lakh people now live in Wish Town, making the remaining infrastructure upgrades as critical as completing the unfinished homes.
