Sunit Chourasia wins DP World PGTI NexGen golf tournament

Varanasi: Sunit Chourasia, a 31-year-old golfer from Kolkata, won the DP World PGTI NexGen–Varanasi golf tournament on Friday, clinching the title for the third time in a row.He carded a final-round score of 73 to finish with a total score of six-under 204, securing an impressive four-stroke victory.Earlier this year, he won the Alpha Sports Academy Golf Championship at Patna Golf Club in March and the Vijay Kumar Memorial Tournament in Lucknow last week.The victory earned Sunit Rs 3,17,875 in prize money. With total season earnings of Rs 10,04,393, he finished as the 2026 DP World PGTI NexGen Order of Merit champion, thereby securing his card for the 2027 main DP World PGTI Tour.The three-day tournament witnessed intense competition, with players from across the country participating.Mukeem Ali of Mathura (67-68-73) and Souvik Nayak of Kolkata (69-69-70) finished as joint runners-up with a total score of two-under 208.
