Sudan govt, FORTI sign Rs 482cr MoUs

Jaipur: Trade ties between Rajasthan and Sudan received a major boost with the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 482 crore between the Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industry (FORTI) and the Sudanese govt.A high-level Sudanese delegation, led by the country’s agriculture minister Khidir Ramadan Sadiq Mohammed and trade and industry minister Hind Mustafa Ali Abdullah, held discussions with FORTI representatives in Jaipur to strengthen bilateral trade.The delegation included 13 officials, while FORTI was represented by its atron Surjaram Meel, chief secretary Naresh Singhal, Girdhari Khandelwal, and youth wing secretaries Prashant Sharma and Neelam Mittal.FORTI president Suresh Agrawal said global trade faces challenges from tariff hikes in the US and tensions in West Asia, prompting FORTI to explore new markets such as Sudan. He added that Rajasthan exporters would also benefit from Free Trade Agreements signed by the central govt with other nations.
