Lucknow: Scores of students from different groups and backgrounds gathered at Parivartan Chowk on Friday and marched to Shaheed Smarak Park, raising slogans against alleged paper leaks and demanding accountability over reported student suicides. Protesters also called for the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and condemned the July 20 police action at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.The demonstration, supported by civil society members, featured printed and handmade placards as participants chanted slogans including “Dharmendra Pradhan Istifa Do” and “Inquilab Zindabad.” Students alleged repeated failures in ensuring fair examinations and said continuing irregularities have eroded trust in the system.NEET aspirant Radhika Misra said students invest years of preparation with hopes of securing their future, but repeated paper leak incidents have damaged confidence and raised concerns about fairness. Student Amitesh Pal said the protest was not limited to one examination but reflected a larger systemic failure, adding that when students lose their lives, accountability becomes necessary.Manav Rawat said repeated leaks have become a serious concern and those in power must be held responsible, alleging that police treat protesting students like criminals. Prince Prakash called for strict action against those involved in leaks.
