Kota: A pack of stray dogs mauled a 9-year-old girl to death on the spot while she was out in an open field for defecation near her hut in Alkodia village under Talera police station in Bundi district Monday early morning.Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota-Bundi MP, on hearing the tragedy, reached the aggrieved family in the village later in the day and paid condolence. Birla also handed over compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the family, assuring assistance of one lakh more through public funding. Besides, Birla also directed Bundi district collector, present on the spot, to help the family with adequate compensation as per govt norm and benefits of govt schemes including PM Awas Yojana. He also directed the district authorities to ensure preventive measures against such stray dog attacks.The deceased girl was identified as Rinku Bheel, daughter of Banshilal, a Class 3 student of a local govt school and resident of Alkodia village, where her family worked as daily wage labourers. A pack of stray dogs attacked the minor girl brutally and mauled her body from multiple places in an open field near her house, DSP Talera Rajesh Tailor said. On hearing the girl’s screams, the family members rushed to the spot, however the stray dogs, by that time, had caused fatal injuries to the minor, DSP Tailor said.She was immediately rushed to the govt community health centre at Talera, where doctors declared her dead after medical examination, he further said. Police lodged a case of unnatural death for investigation and handed over the body to family members after postmortem later in the day, he added. Notably, earlier in Feb this year, a pack of stray dogs had left a minor girl severely injured in a govt school in Sitapura under the same police station in Bundi district.
