Star Health settles claims worth 1,254 crore in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana in FY26

Hyderabad: Star Health and Allied Insurance on Tuesday said it settled claims worth ₹1,254 crore across 1.8 lakh cases in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in FY26, a 24% increase from ₹1,014 crore in FY25.The insurer said claim volumes in the two states rose 13% year-on-year, from 1.6 lakh to 1.8 lakh. Gross written premium in the region grew 17% to ₹2,268 crore from ₹1,928 crore, while the number of policies increased 7% to 9.4 lakh from 8.8 lakh.Since inception, the company said it has settled over ₹6,064 crore across more than 9.6 lakh claims in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.Speaking in Hyderabad, managing director and CEO Anand Roy said the rise in payouts reflects growing adoption of health insurance and the company’s focus on faster, more transparent claims support.The insurer currently has over 1,800 network hospitals in the two states, supported by 75-plus branches, 89,000-plus advisers, over 1,800 employees, and more than 230 Star Gramin Bima Kendras.Nationally, its hospital network exceeds 15,000, with 75% of claims processed through its new digital platform. Across India, the company settled ₹11,903 crore covering 30.6 lakh claims in FY26, up from ₹10,353 crore and 24.4 lakh claims a year earlier.
