SP’s real face exposed again: Brajesh Pathak

Lucknow: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing it of disrupting the proceedings of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and undermining the dignity of the House through unruly conduct.Reacting to the opposition’s protest in Assembly, Pathak alleged that SP had once again exposed its “true face” before the people of the state by turning a democratic forum meant for constructive debate into a political battleground. He said Assembly is a platform where public issues should be discussed meaningfully and solutions should be sought, but the opposition instead chose disruption and disorder.Dy CM also criticised SP for raising political issues over matters related to Shri Ram Temple, calling it “highly unfortunate” to politicise an issue connected with the faith of millions of Indians. He said the public expects discussions based on facts, whereas the opposition is attempting to create confusion and generate noise.Pathak asserted that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led govt remains fully committed to its agenda of public welfare, development and good governance. He said safeguarding the dignity of Assembly and upholding democratic traditions is a collective responsibility of all legislators.Highlighting the achievements of the “double-engine” BJP govt, Pathak said Uttar Pradesh continues to move steadily on the path of development and will play a leading role in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
