Spl training session on Kavach 4.0  at NER Kashi

Varanasi: Under the aegis of Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications, a special training session on Kavach 4.0 was organised on Friday at the Varanasi division of North Eastern Railway (NER) for divisional officers, technicians, and loco inspectors through video conferencing.IRISET is actively playing a leading role in training and capacity building for the Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system.During the session, IRISET covered the upgrade of Kavach to version 4.0, which incorporates improved location accuracy and direct interface with the electronic interlocking system. The Centre of Excellence at IRISET has developed structured training programs for regional training centres, focused on trackside and onboard equipment. With the rapid deployment of Kavach 4.0, IRISET plays a crucial role in providing the skilled workforce required for high-density rail corridors that are currently underutilized.At the video conferencing, M Munikumar, ED/TD/COE/RDSO, Secunderabad, elaborated in detail on various technical aspects of the Kavach (indigenous train collision avoidance system), the current progress of work, challenges, and their solutions.Officers connected from Secunderabad presented the updated status of the project, and deliberations were also held on the future action plan. Following the training session, divisional railway manager Ashish Jain emphasized coordination and monitoring of technical works related to the Kavach system to the concerned officers.
