Chandigarh: A special one-day session of the Haryana assembly will be held on Monday for the introduction and passing of a bill related to the promotion of Group D employees.Haryana assembly speaker Harvinder Kalyan on Sunday reviewed the preparations for the day-long session. He held a meeting of high-level officers, including heads of police force, intelligence agencies and administrative secretaries, to review the security arrangements and other protocols to be followed during the special session.On April 20, the state cabinet led by chief minister Nayab Singh Saini announced a special assembly session on April 27 to introduce the Haryana Clerical Services (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Bill, 2026.The bill aims to facilitate promotions of Group D employees with over five years of service by increasing their promotion quota from 20% to 30%.According to sources privy to the development, the treasury benches are also expected to move a censure motion against the opposition for their role in defeating the Nari Shakti Vandan Amendment Bill in Parliament.On Sunday, CM Saini discussed the proposed bill with his team, while Kalyan directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for the day-long session.The speaker said every session of the legislative assembly was an important part of the democratic process, and maintaining its dignity and effectiveness was the responsibility of all officials.MSID:: 130531583 413 |
