SP must apologise for allowing namaz at Hanumangarhi temple, says Yogi

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday accused the Samajwadi Party and the Congress of disrespecting Hindu faith, alleging Samajwadi Party had allowed namaz to be offered at the Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya when it was in govt and demanded that they apologise for the “sin”. He challenged the SP and Congress to try having Hanuman Chalisa similarly recited in the Jama Masjid.Alluding possibly to an incident that occurred in 2003 when Mulayam Singh Yadav was UP CM, Yogi said that BJP has established Ayodhya as the cultural capital of Sanatan Dharma but opposition parties are only interested in illegally occupying land, developing ‘kabristan’ (graveyards) and insulting the Sanatan faith. In Ayodhya to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 217 projects worth Rs 432 crore, the CM said that SP and Congress had always opposed the Ram temple, even denying the existence of Ram and having shots fired at Ram bhakts. He accused them of being unhappy with Ayodhya’s development and therefore misleading people in the name of an airport and then opposing Ayodhya itself. After BJP came to office, he said, an international airport was built in Ayodhya in the name of Maharshi Valmiki. With the Ram temple, it also changed the face of Ayodhya and Bhakti Path, Dharmpath, Rampath and Janmabhoomipath had become Ayodhya’s identity. With improved air, rail and road connectivity, Ayodhya was now linked to all parts of the country.“The double-engine govt honoured people like Nishadraj by making a rain basera in his name and a bhojanalaya in the same of Maa Shabri. At the place in Shringverpur where SP was getting encroachment done in the name of waqf, the BJP govt built a grand memorial of the meeting between Lord Ram and Nishadraj,” he said.Describing the changes in Ayodhya, Yogi said it has become a solar city, its ghats have been beautified and developed, and now, when someone from Ayodhya goes to other parts of the country or even abroad, he/she is looked at with respect.“We have achieved what could not be done in 500 years. If intent is clean and the policy is clear, then the supreme power also stands with you. When people of Bikapur chose a good MLA, then development followed. When public representatives take interest in development, the results are positive, as can be seen today in Ayodhya, Bikapur, Milkipur, Gosainganj and Rudauli,” the CM said.Mentioning his last visit to Ayodhya district, when he inaugurated projects in the Rudauli assembly constituency on June 19, the CM said that development had become possible due to good public representatives. “For a long time, due to not getting roads, electricity and water, Ayodhya remained neglected and deprived of development. Due to the lack of arrangements, devotees failed to receive the blessings of Maa Saryu, but now the sacred stream of Maa Saryu is irrigating Ayodhya,” the CM said.
