Varanasi: Named FIR was registered against nine persons, including former MLA and district president of Samajwadi Party Manoj Singh Dablu, along with 250 unidentified workers, in Chandauli district, on charges of pushing policemen in a bid to enter the collectorate campus, recently.The SP organised a protest near Vikas Bhawan on Friday in support of their six-point demands during which they attempted to enter the collectorate and clashed with policemen who restricted their march. Chandauli police station in charge B K Pandey said that FIR was lodged under sections 191(2) (rioting), 191(3) (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 189 (1) (unlawful assembly), 223 (disobedience to orders duly promulgated by a public servant), 121(1) (voluntarily causing hurt), 132 (criminal fotrce), 3(5) (Common Intention), 352 (intentional insult), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of BNS and 7CLA act.Apart from Dablu, Naveen Singh, party’s district president Satyanarayan Rajbhar, former MLA candidate Chandrashekhar Yadav, district panchayat member Anjani Singh, SP national spokesperson Manoj Singh Kaka, former chairman Musafir Singh Chauhan, OBC unit district president V K Bind and SP district general secretary Nafees Ahmad were booked on these charges along with 250 unidentified persons.SP members and workers had gone to submit a memorandum and stage a protest at the district magistrate’s office against power crisis, lack of water in canals, alleged corrupt practices in govt departments and the problems being faced by the farmers.The participants staged sit-in near Vikas Bhawan and also addressed a public meeting there. Later, they moved towards DM office inside collectorate to submit their memorandum. When police tried to stop them, they got into an argument and pushed them.
