Jaipur: A 55-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death inside her rented house in Jaipur’s Kho Nagoriyan area Saturday, with police suspecting the involvement of her youngest son, who is missing since the body was found. Police identified the victim as Panni Devi, a native of Gangapur City. She lived with her family in Bundu Vihar. Her body, bearing multiple stab wounds, was found outside the house around 1 pm after neighbours alerted the police.Police said forensic experts were called to the scene to collect evidence, and the body was sent for post-mortem. During preliminary investigation, police found stab injuries on the victim’s forehead and below her left eye. Her two elder sons, Tejram and Harkesh Bairwa, told investigators they had left for work in the morning and were informed of the murder around noon by their cousin.According to the family, the cousin said Panni Devi had called him, claiming that her youngest son, Anil, had locked her inside the house and was threatening to kill her. Family members told police Anil was a drug-addict and had been troubling them for the past two days. They had even sought traditional faith-based treatment for him.Police said Anil has been missing since the body was discovered, and efforts are underway to trace him. Investigation is in progress.
