Tonk/Bhilwara: A case has been registered against former RAC constable Shriram Meena for allegedly securing his job by sending a dummy candidate to take the RAC Constable Recruitment-2010-11 written examination, police said.The FIR was lodged at Tonk Kotwali police station on June 30, 2026, on a report submitted by 9th Battalion RAC Commandant Rajesh Chaudhary after a Special Operations Group preliminary inquiry found the allegation prima facie correct.Meena, who was posted in the 9th Battalion RAC, Tonk, till 2024, is now said to be living in Kantoli village in the attire of an Aghori Baba. Police have not officially confirmed his location. On Facebook, he uses the name Shri Ram Aghori Baba and has posted: “A degree only gets you a job, wisdom can make you win the whole world.” His profile also carries photographs with several political leaders and officers.Tonk SP Roshan Meena said the action followed SOG complaint number 3499. “After the preliminary inquiry conducted on the basis of complaint number-3499 in the SOG, instructions were given for action according to jurisdiction,” he said. After receiving guidance from the SOG, the RAC Commandant submitted the report, and a case was registered under IPC provisions for cheating and the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 1992.Kotwali SHO Bhanwar Lal Vaishnav said Meena allegedly got a dummy candidate to appear for him at an examination centre in the Kotwali area in Jan 2011. After his selection on July 2, 2011, he submitted the required declaration forms and documents at the Battalion Headquarters in Tonk and later joined service as a constable on July 18, 2014, drawing salary and allowances.Police are examining recruitment records, examination documents, departmental files and other evidence. Investigators are also probing whether the fraud involved only Meena or whether an organised gang or others were part of the racket.The FIR followed SOG guidance issued on June 24, 2026, after earlier correspondence between police and RAC Headquarters over the precise nature of the allegation. Police said efforts are underway to trace Meena, who has been voluntarily absent from duty. Once found, he will be questioned on the recruitment process, documents and the alleged use of a dummy candidate.
