Six held for pelting stones at MEMU train in Bhadohi
The incident took place on August 28 and came to light after a video of the stone-pelting circulated on social media.

Varanasi: In a joint operation, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday evening arrested four persons and detained two juveniles for allegedly pelting stones at a MEMU train near Ahimpur Halt in Gopiganj.The incident took place on August 28 and came to light after a video of the stone-pelting circulated on social media.Sharing details of the action, North Eastern Railway (NER) Varanasi division chief publicity inspector Himanshu Rao said DRM Ashish Jain and chief security commissioner Pankaj Chugh took serious note of the video showing stones being thrown at the moving MEMU train. They directed the formation of a joint team to identify those involved and initiate legal action.RPF and GRP personnel examined the video footage and conducted raids at different locations. During the operation, Krishna Kumar, Abhishek Prajapati, Adarsh Prajapati and Aditya Gupta were arrested. Two juveniles were also detained and produced before the juvenile justice court. All the accused are residents of Aurai police station area in Bhadohi district.Officials said further aspects of the incident were being examined. Railway authorities urged people living near railway tracks to refrain from such dangerous acts and cooperate with the authorities in ensuring the safety of passengers and railway operations.
