SIR process: Ease voter verification, Asad to Telangana CEO
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi

Hyderabad: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday raised several concerns in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which is set to start from June 25, and said the process can place unnecessary burden on voters and booth-level officers (BLOs).Owaisi submitted a representation to chief electoral officer C Sudarshan Reddy and said the data collected during the earlier pre-SIR mapping exercise should be used to generate prefilled forms having details from both rolls. This will reduce inconvenience to voters and also minimise the workload of BLOs.This he said against the backdrop that the enumeration forms are expected to contain only details from the 2025 electoral roll, requiring voters to manually fill in information from the 2002 electoral roll. The Hyderabad MP also highlighted that voters whose mapping was completed do not have their 2002 details, as the mapping was done on the BLO app, and no acknowledgement containing both 2002 and 2025 details was provided to them during the pre-SIR exercise. As a result, he suggested that a standard operating procedure (SOP) be issued to address such anomalies and ensure enrolment of such voters in the final roll. The AIMIM president also requested the CEO to ensure that enumeration forms were made available in English and Urdu in addition to Telugu.
